Questions & answers

Everything you might want to ask

Plain answers with the actual facts — prices, deposit, coverage, and the all-important note that she’s a photography car, not a passenger service.

How much does it cost to hire a classic car for a photoshoot in Cornwall?

Hiring The Cornish Moggy — a classic 1967 Morris Minor — for a photoshoot in Cornwall costs £75 per hour with a two-hour minimum, so £150 for a typical session. A £35 non-refundable deposit secures your date and the balance is payable on the day. Travel is included within 10 miles of Quintrell Downs, with a small mileage charge for locations further afield.

Can I hire a classic car for wedding photos in Cornwall?

Yes. The Cornish Moggy offers a wedding photo package from £295, bringing the 1967 Morris Minor to your venue for up to three hours of couple portraits and group shots within 15 miles of Quintrell Downs. She is a photography car, not wedding transport — her owner positions her beautifully for photos, but she does not carry the wedding party. Ribbons are available and guests are welcome to pose with and sit in her.

Do you drive the wedding party to the venue?

No. The Cornish Moggy is a photography car rather than a chauffeur or taxi service. Her owner, Mike, drives her to your venue, parks and positions her exactly where your photographer wants, and looks after her throughout — but she does not carry passengers or drive anyone to the church.

Can we sit in the car for photos?

Absolutely. Posing in, around and beside the car is exactly what she is there for. You, your partner and your guests are welcome to sit in her, lean on her and gather round for photographs throughout your booking.

Can I drive the car myself?

No. The owner handles all of the driving and positioning of the car. This keeps our lovely 1967 Morris Minor safe and correctly insured, and it means you can relax and concentrate on getting beautiful photographs.

What areas of Cornwall do you cover?

The Cornish Moggy is based in Quintrell Downs near Newquay and travels across the whole of Cornwall — including Newquay, Truro, St Ives, Padstow, Falmouth and both the north and south coasts. Travel is included within 10 miles of Quintrell Downs, with a small mileage charge for locations further afield.

How do I book, and what deposit do you need?

To book, send your date, location and occasion through the enquiry form on our Book page, or email [email protected]. A £35 non-refundable deposit secures your date and the balance is payable on the day. Photoshoots are £75 per hour with a two-hour minimum, and wedding photo packages start from £295.

Can the car be used for film, TV or brand shoots?

Yes. The 1967 Morris Minor is available as a picture car and prop for film, television, commercial and brand content across Cornwall. These bookings are priced on enquiry as day rates — tell us about your production and we will send a quote.

How far in advance should I book for a summer wedding?

For summer weddings in Cornwall we recommend booking as early as you can, ideally six to twelve months ahead, as peak Saturdays between May and September fill up quickly. A £35 non-refundable deposit holds your date the moment you are ready.

What happens if it rains?

Cornish weather is part of the charm, and the car looks wonderful under a moody sky or a little drizzle. If conditions are genuinely unworkable we will always try to reschedule to another date that suits you. Chat to us and your photographer about timing — some of the best shots come in the soft light just after a shower.
